City of Minneapolis 2024 Latino Business Week

The City of Minneapolis will host the first Latino Business Week in Minneapolis, Sunday, October 6 through Sunday, October 13. To build on the excitement of National Hispanic Heritage Month, the city is planning a week of community events.

Please complete the registration form using the link below before the event(s) you will be attending. Pre-registration is not required but is highly recommended. For the events featured on this page, only one form is needed, multiple events can be selected.

Community events:

  • Kickoff event

October 6, 2 p.m. - 6 p.m.
Mercado Central, 1515 E. Lake St.
The kickoff is co-hosted by Mayor Jacob Frey and Council Member Jason Chavez. Festivities will include music, a panel discussion, and shopping with local vendors.

  • Business plan workshop

October 8, 3 p.m. - 5 p.m.
East Side Neighborhood Services, Inc., 1700 NE 2nd St.
Learn how to structure your business idea into a business plan.

  • City of Minneapolis commercial loans

October 8, 5 - 6 p.m.
East Side Neighborhood Services, Inc., 1700 NE 2nd St.
Learn about low-interest loans and the Ownership and Opportunity Fund.

  • Small business resource and marketing workshop

October 9, 12 -3 p.m.
Corcoran Park, 3334 20th Ave. S.
Connect to community resources for businesses. 

  • Marketing workshop

Attend "Elevate Your Brand: Essential Strategies for a Winning Marketing Campaign" workshop. The workshop will be hosted in Spanish by CPED’s Small Business Team.

  • Empowerment through employment and self-employment pathways

October 10, 1 p.m. - 4 p.m.
CareerForce, 777 E. Lake St.
Attendees will be able to meet service providers and ask questions. Topics include workers' rights; drivers licenses and state IDs; and job seeking with an employment authorization document. Lake Street Council will provide resources for Lake Street businesses. An hour-long workshop about worker rights and pay in Minneapolis will begin at 2 p.m. This event is hosted by the Department of Civil Rights, the Office of Immigrant and Refugee Affairs, and CPED’s Employment & Training team.

  • Latinx Farmers Market Pop-up
    Sunday, Oct. 13, 4-7 p.m.
    Farmers Market Annex, 200 East Lyndale Ave. N.
    Stock up on fresh locally grown produce at a vibrant showcase of Latin cuisine, music, and family-friendly activities. Learn how to create your own Ofrenda, get your face painted, dance to live music, and explore various community resources. The market is hosted by the Latino Economic Development Center.
